“It takes a village to raise a child,” the saying goes. In my brief time as a parent, I’ve come to greatly appreciate the support of the various villages I’ve been part of over the years. These groups have changed as time has passed, affected by moves and other life events, but the impact these special groups of people have had on my life has been long lasting.
At this point in my life, the outdoors serves as the setting for most of my family’s adventures. We hike and camp and explore together, making precious memories and building a strong foundation for adventures to come. Nature plays an important role in family life for us, so naturally my village largely consists of other outdoor-loving parents. Both as a mother and as an individual, I draw so much inspiration and encouragement from this spectacular group of friends.
With that said, I’m really excited to introduce Tales from the Trail, a brand new guest series here on Two Kids in Tow. Each month, I will be sharing adventure stories and photos from families who inspire me on a daily basis. These tales from the trail will be told by friends who I’ve spent lots of time with and friends I have yet to meet in person. I hope these stories motivate you to get outside with your family they way they motivate me.
Tune in next week for my very first feature, Lynzy from Adventures of Four!
