One carrier, two kids, countless adventures • twokidsintow.com

My husband and I bought this carrier for Luke when he was three weeks old. I was a brand new momma then, and just learning about things like baby wearing. This Ergo carried Luke all over Europe; along miles of farm access roads and bike trails in Germany, up and down the steps of the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Belfort in Bruges, and in and out of castle ruins in the Scottish Highlands. Luke nursed in this carrier, napped in this carrier, and spent many an afternoon hiking with his momma in this carrier. Our adventures in the early years of Luke’s life can be seen in its sunbleached fabric and worn off inner tags.

Last Sunday afternoon, I dug this trusty carrier out of my closet and brought it with me on one of our earliest hikes as a family of four. I carefully strapped my sleepy newborn to my chest and slowly hiked along after my husband and firstborn, dreaming of all the new places this Ergo will carry my Jack.

I can only imagine what this thing will look like after a few more years of adventures.
