The weather has been gorgeous here in Colorado. In an effort to bag as many hikes as possible before winter hits and the new baby arrives, Luke and I have been hiking most days of the week. Our hikes aren’t tremendously long or difficult, but they get us outside and that’s what counts!

We did a few repeat hikes this week, as well as some new ones. I led my very first Hike It Baby hike and set a personal goal to lead at least two per month from now on. Daddy was able to join us on half of our hikes again this week.

Read on for my trail notes from hikes five through eight of my 52 Hike Challenge!

In an effort to keep my trail notes from completely taking over Two Kids in Tow, I’m going to publish them in sets of four. To read all of my notes in order, click on the 52 Hike Challenge category in the right sidebar.

Trail Notes

Some days I hike for the scenery. Other days I hike for the exercise. Some days I hike to get Luke to burn some energy. Other days I hike to relieve my own stress.

Some days I hike because it’s the very last thing I feel like doing.

Today was one of those days. I’d love to say the hike turned my day around, but this one didn’t. Still, I have four miles done, another hike under my belt, and tomorrow is a brand new day.

“There are amazingly wonderful people in all walks of life; some familiar to us and others not. Stretch yourself and really get to know people. People are in many ways one of our greatest treasures.” Bryant H. McGill

I planned and coordinated my very first Hike It Baby hike this morning. I was a little nervous about it but everything went well and it was fun meeting some new friends. My new goal is to lead a couple of hikes per month.
