Cripple Creek and Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad | Cripple Creek, Colorado
I woke up in a funk that day, sorely missing just about every other home I’ve had in the last decade and longing to be anywhere but Colorado. We loaded up the car with water and snacks and headed out of town, with no real destination in mind. We ended up in Cripple Creek and stopped for a bathroom break when Luke spotted it: the Cripple Creek and Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad station. We were just in time for the next train ride around the outskirts of town. As we slowly bumped down the track, I was reminded of a lesson I’ve learned over and over again as I’ve moved from place to place: every home has something special to offer, whether that something is immediately apparent or needs a little effort discovering.
